During the summer of 2025, MSU Mosquito Lab will be monitoring mosquito populations throughout the towns of Mayville and Portland, North Dakota.  While we will still be providing average trap count numbers, we will additionally be investigating the feeding behavior of local mosquito species based upon height.

Each “site” will house 3 mosquito traps.  These traps will be placed at ground level, 1 meter, and 2 meters above the ground.  This will allow us to investigate not only preferred hunting height for mosquito populations at the species level but also maintain information about numbers of mosquitoes at each location.
