Research Symposium
SUBRE is a summer research program for undergraduate students attending colleges or universities in North Dakota.  It is funded by the North Dakota IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (ND INBRE) and the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences.  The goal of the program is to attract talented undergraduate students in ND majoring in science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) to careers in the biomedical sciences.  The program provides a 10-week summer research experience under the direction of selected faculty members at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.  Research projects span the spectrum of biomedical science.

The SUBRE program will have up to twenty (20) openings for the Summer of 2023 for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  Participants must be attending an institution of higher education in North Dakota.  Preference will be given to rising juniors and seniors and applicants without previous research experience.  Preference will also be given to students who are considering graduate or medical school.  Participants will receive a compensation package of $6,000 based on a 10-week, 40 hours per week research experience.  Interested participants must complete an application, including an autobiographical sketch, and submit their unofficial college transcript and two letters of recommendation.  Application review will begin March 1 and continue until all positions have been filled.  The SUBRE program will begin Tuesday, May 30, 2023, and end Friday, August 4, 2023.
